According to reports, on the day of "World Environment Day" on June 5, 2021, Continental Tire Company promised to achieve 100% carbon neutrality in its entire value chain by 2050 at the latest.
Continental claims that the water consumption and energy consumption per ton of tires produced by its tire business are 55% and 17% lower than the industry average respectively. The goal is to save another 20% in each case by 2030. Similarly, Continental's solar photovoltaic power station at its tire factory in Hefei, Anhui, was expanded in June 2020.
