It was reported that at the "2016 Products Manufacturing Partners Forum” , Tamagawa Denki (headquartered at Yokohama) plastic division displayed the bending or concave deformation parts of the metal on soft resin (NBR, nitrile rubber) made by vapor deposition. Although the part is made of resin, it creates a sense of high-grade metal style. The related technology has been applied in cosmetics packaging. The manufacturing first starts with pretreatment and special premier on NBR, then goes through the evaporation process and finish paint for external decoration.
In addition, Tamagawa Denki exhibited hard resin samples of electrical products of buttons and handles with the grain. The making first starts with forming concentric rings and concave and convex patterns of 0.05mm high on the surface of a resin part, and then goes through processes of premier, evaporation and finish painting. In the past, there was the possibility that the grain were filled due to too thick a coating layer, but the technology has been developed to reduce coating thickness and it has achieved the same level of performance as metal now.
Besides, Tamagawa Denki introduced technology to make soft resin parts by using film and cloth as insertion molding. Because many folds are formed by simply using film insertion molding, it is hard to achieve a good result for most of the time. As a result, this company has developed the technology to use the film lined with resin for one-time molding, thus realizing the insertion molding.
