Auto parts maker American Minghua Co., Ltd. plans to invest at least $29 million to build a plant in Greer, South Carolina, which will create 79 new jobs.
The company is a wholly-owned sub-subsidiary of China Jiangnan Mould & Plastic Technology Co., Ltd. Company spokesperson Bruce Luna said the company has purchased 70 acres of land in Greer for the construction of at least 160,000 square feet of operation center.
The construction project is expected to start in 2019, and the completion time has not yet been determined.
“Minghua plans to expand its injection molding and painting capacity, will purchase equipment for the new plant, and add new equipment to the existing plant.” At present, Minghua expects the total investment in purchasing equipment to be approximately $13 million.
In 2016, the parent company Jiangnan Mould announced for the first time that it would build an injection molding plant in Greer and invest $45 million in the project. The Greer plant produces parts for BMW's X5, X6 and X7. There are currently 19 injection molding machines with clamping forces ranging from 150 tons to 2,300 tons.
Minghua announced sales revenue of 4.3 billion yuan in 2017, with a net profit of 134.5 million yuan.
